Multi-Property Hotel Chain — Digital Signage & IPTV Deployment
Standardizing in-room entertainment and lobby signage across 12 properties and 1,500+ rooms with 100% brand-standard compliance.

The Challenge
A leading international hotel chain with 12 properties across India faced fragmented in-room entertainment and inconsistent lobby signage. Each property had been independently fitted with different display brands, varying screen sizes, and incompatible systems. The hotel group mandated brand-standard compliance across all Indian properties, requiring a uniform guest experience, consistent branding, and centralized content management.
Key pain points included inconsistent guest experience across properties, outdated displays in guest rooms, no centralized content control for lobby signage, high maintenance costs from mixed-brand hardware, and a tight rollout timeline with properties unable to go offline for extended periods.
The Solution
VTL proposed a standardized AV architecture covering in-room displays, IPTV headend systems, and lobby digital signage across all 12 properties.
In-Room Entertainment: Samsung Hospitality TVs with integrated IPTV middleware delivering live TV, video on demand, and interactive hotel services including guest welcome screens, restaurant menus, spa booking, and local area information.
Lobby and Common Area Signage: Samsung smart signage displays deployed across all properties for lobby information boards, restaurant digital menus, event schedule displays, and wayfinding signage. Content managed centrally with the ability to push brand-standard content simultaneously while allowing property-specific customization.
IPTV Infrastructure: Centralized IPTV headend systems with content management per property, enabling both chain-wide and property-specific content channels.
VTL was selected as the deployment partner due to authorized Samsung and LG distribution with hospitality program expertise, 8+ years of hospitality AV experience, ability to coordinate multi-city multi-property rollouts, and single-point accountability for procurement, deployment, and warranty.
Implementation
Phase 1 -- Audit and Design (Month 1): Site surveys across all 12 properties, infrastructure assessment, network readiness checks, and solution design per property type (city hotel, resort, business hotel).
Phase 2 -- Pilot Property (Month 2): Full deployment at one flagship property for validation, covering in-room TVs, IPTV system, and lobby signage. Guest feedback collected and solution refined.
Phase 3 -- Phased Rollout (Months 3-6): Simultaneous deployment across remaining 11 properties in batches of 3 to 4. Installations scheduled during low-occupancy periods. A dedicated VTL project manager coordinated the entire rollout with pan-India logistics covering both metro and tier-2 cities.
Phase 4 -- Commissioning and Training: System commissioning, staff training at each property, handover documentation, and warranty registration.
Results
| Metric | Result |
|---|---|
| Properties Deployed | 12 |
| Guest Rooms Equipped | 1,500+ |
| Rollout Duration | 6 months |
| Brand-Standard Compliance | 100% |
| Warranty Coordination | Single-vendor through VTL |
| Ongoing Support | Annual maintenance agreement |
The standardized deployment eliminated inconsistency across properties, reduced maintenance costs through single-brand standardization, enabled real-time content updates across all 12 properties from a central CMS, and achieved zero revenue loss during the rollout with no rooms taken offline during peak occupancy periods.
"VTL's ability to coordinate across all our properties while maintaining brand standards was exceptional. The transition was seamless, and our guests have responded positively to the upgraded in-room experience."
